ACTING CONSERVATORY & FALL 10-WEEK ACTING PROGRAM
HOW INTENSIVE IS THE PROGRAM?
It’s a commitment. There are just seven hours per week of class time for both the 10-week and the Conservatory Programs (Bellingham and Seattle). They are intensive programs and in addition to the class time, actors will need time to read, memorize lines, and do script analysis work. Each term is 10-weeks long with some breaks between quarters for sanity. We designed the program to allow people to join them while in school or working.
WHO CAN APPLY?
The program is open to anyone over 18, but we recommend you have experience on stage and an ability to memorize lines. You will be asked to provide a video audition and an introduction letter telling us about your experience as an actor and what brings you to the program.
CAN I JUST DO ONE QUARTER OF THE CONSERVATORY?
Yes. The Fall 10-Week Acting program is Fall Quarter of the Conservatory. If you’re unsure you want to join for the full year, that is a good place to start, and you will have the opportunity to join for Winter and Spring terms if you’d like.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE PAYMENTS OR IS TUITION ALL DUE AT REGISTRATION?
Through June you can register with a $500 deposit. There are payment options to pay by quarter, and we’re happy to make arrangements for anyone who is interested in quarterly or monthly payments.
IS THERE A SPECIFIC ACTING METHOD THAT YOU TEACH?
Our program is in Meisner based acting. We look at various tools and techniques that are in keeping with the underlying philosophy of “acting authentically in imaginary circumstances.”
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN A CLASS?
We keep class size limited to about twelve students. Some groups may have as few as six, but there are times we join our various classes into larger groups for special instructors and group movement classes.
IS THERE A SECOND YEAR OF STUDY?
Yes. A second year of study will be offered in 2024-25 from October to June. Scene study is expanded with focus on Chekhov and Shakespeare with expanded performance opportunities in the spring of 2025. .
